Carhartt Heritage – Fall/Winter 20111
Fall/Winter 2011 sees the first standalone Carhartt Heritage collection. The new collection has seen a complete overhall and includes some great outerwear, knits, shirting, t-shirts and accessories. New Brand — Velour Clothing
Another new label new to UrbanExcess.com this fall is the up and coming Swedish men’s premium clothing brand Velour. The inspiration of Per Andersson, Velour was born in 1997 when Andersson began rummaging through the accumulation of garments clothing left over from his grandmother’s now closed ready-to-wear store (the shop closed in the mid-80s following 50 years in business) and started to design clothes inspired by the pieces found in the od shop.
The fantastic Velour clothing fall/winter 2011 lookbook was photographed in the same old store Per’s grandparents ran. Named ‘Inheritance’ the collection is inspired by the label’s very own history and features a slew of classic garments. Read More »

New Brand — Garbstore
Ian Paley’s menswear brand, “Garbstore” come to life with a cutting edge collection of classic unfamiliar vintage items and accessories. The philosophy of the Garbstore label is richly ensconced in the history of clothing produced after the Second World War and draws influence from what can be coined “Unfamiliar Vintage”, familiar garments that reference the past but with a modern edge. Edwin Jeans — Breaking Those Dry Goods
A great post on the Edwin jeans blog about breaking in unwashed Edwin selvedge jeans Some time back. “JP (One of the Edwin family) slipped into a a nice pair of clean, dry ‘straight off the factory floor’ 13.7oz Japanese Rainbow Listed Selvage Edwin ED-47 jeans. So strong was his bond with this beautiful denim, that he simply didn’t take them off for 413 days. That’s a hefty 413 days without a single wash.
