
Another new label new to UrbanExcess.com this fall is the up and coming Swedish men’s premium clothing brand Velour. The inspiration of Per Andersson, Velour was born in 1997 when Andersson began rummaging through the accumulation of garments clothing left over from his grandmother’s now closed ready-to-wear store (the shop closed in the mid-80s following 50 years in business) and started to design clothes inspired by the pieces found in the od shop.

Ian Paley’s menswear brand, “Garbstore” come to life with a cutting edge collection of classic unfamiliar vintage items and accessories. The philosophy of the Garbstore label is richly ensconced in the history of clothing produced after the Second World War and draws influence from what can be coined “Unfamiliar Vintage”, familiar garments that reference the past but with a modern edge. For example jeans and trousers are tailored with fifties grip tape, all buttons are Tri-hole and sweats and tees follow vintage models. In essence pieces are re-imagined and made “historically new”.
