At UrbanExcess, we love Brixton Hats. After an impressive Fall campaign, the California-based label have expanded their apparel line with a new collection for winter and we’ve been working hard to bring you a pick of the best.
The Brixton Ltd Holiday ’09 Collection comprises some great outerwear pieces, highlighted by the Brixton Sham Jacket, a cafe motorcycle style piece with a tailored fit and plaid lining, and the Debaser Jacket, a grey wool, vintage inspired military jacket with a tailored fit.
The So Cal-based hat designers haven’t lost their focus though – their new range of hats is as strong as ever.
First up are the caps: the Brixton Wheeler is a classic mesh contrast snapback Trucker Cap with large BRXTN embroidered patch, whilst the Station Trucker Hat is a solid colour snapback featuring the BRXTN branding and puma design.
Then there’s a new spin on some old favourites – the Fiddler BakerBoy Cap is now available in both brown tweed and navy, the Brood NewBoy Capincludes brown herringbone and brown plaid, and the Gain Crushable Felt Trilby now comes in Moss Brown.
Finally, to beat the winter chill, look no further than the Brixton Raglan Military Cap. This wool hat is a twist on the popular military cap style with a unique cuff design and button detailing.
Whatever type of hat you fancy, Brixton’s got you covered.

Swedish super brand WeSC is, in their own words, “a street fashion brand for intellectual slackers”. WeSC is short for We are the Superlative Conspiracy and symbolises what WeSC as a company stands for – a group of good and competent people working towards the same ideal and goals.
Founded in 2000 by a group of avid skate and snow boarders, WeSC set out to deliver “life after skate”, a brand that was more than just jeans and t-shirts. Like many other labels within skateboard culture, WeSC has its roots firmly in a subculture that sets its own rules and follows it own trends. Whether you buy in to this or not, there is no denying that WeSC make some damn fine streetwear.
Their AW09 collection features a killer range of WesC clothing, WeSC hoodies, t-shirts, flannel shirts and sweater dresses plus collaboration pieces with Delta and Kazuki. With all of their items in high quality, super-soft fabrics, we defy you to strap on a comfier t-shirt or hoody than a WeSC one.
Their talent doesn’t just end there. Through the core of science and the biggest bag of love, WeSC have brought out the freshest overhead WESC headphones ever. The hi-tech design of the Oboe street headphones gives you all you could ask for and more, and are designed to ensure both fit and comfort – whether you’re a skate virtuoso or a hammock hedonist. With superlative audio performance, the cans incorporate the best possible audio components, bringing a full, rich sound coupled with immaculate clarity, depth and warmth.
Go on, get yourself into WeSC…

Thanks to their presentation of 3d isometric illustrations filled with structures, robots, cars, guns and girls, the brands’ unique style has gained it cult status and a following with graphic designers worldwide.
The new collection brings us eBoys signature Baltimore dock city theme on Gola Bags including the Redford and Baltimore and the eBoy Tron High-Top Trainers, featuring their signature ‘Eater’ Godzilla monster, sopranos style strip bar and a military naval base. Coal Beanies started as a labour of love six years ago in an apartment in Portland, Oregon. With the belief that headwear should be seen as far more than just an accessory, they set about creating a collection of beanie hats that are designed to represent you – your identity and your lifestyle.
Utilising quality materials and exacting detail, they have crafted a whole new take on the woolen knit beanie hat, and with deep roots in art, skate and snowboard culture, Coal hats deliver great fit and forward thinking design.

Lowlife belts exploded onto the alternative clothing and extreme sports scene back in 2001 with the intention of bringing the waistline to the forefront of fashion and since then they’ve never looked back.
Born and bred in London, Lowlife’s distinctive and verbose studded belts quickly gave them a loyal following of musicians, artists BMXers, skateboarders and tattooists. By absorbing these influences, flirting with pop culture and encouraging creative independence, Lowlife delivers studded belts, buckles and clothing for an eclectic modern alternative lifestyle, whilst waving the rock‘n’roll flag to every misfit in tow.
Despite this, Lowlife belts manages to traverse a variety of styles with their diverse Fall ’09 Collection and their products can’t be pigeonholed – with features on their products appearing in both Kerrang! and Zoo magazine, we rest our case!
